It's a staking tomato that takes little room and can be planted quite close to each other. It doesn't need a greenhouse- I grow it quite successfully in the open, with a a little hand pollination to help maximize yield.
It can grow quite long (20') if you espalier it along a wire, but a 6' stake is just fine too. The fruits average about 6 ounces, are richly colored, and once you taste a vine-ripened Vendor, you won't go near a hybrid again.
