They do have a tendency to green shoulders and a bit of cracking around the top, however most large heirlooms do. I've harvested 6, over one pound and it is only the first week in July. The vines are wispy and look like they have a hard time holding up the fruits, and I have mine in strong cages, but I've never had a broken branch. The flavor is wonderful and as a gardener who loves the hearts, it is definitely a keeper.
