I was expecting them to be...Read More more resistant to the powdery mildew & fungal diseases that killed most of my other Zinnias, but unfortunately they weren't. Tried the baking soda spray first & it didn't help at all. Tried Neem Oil Spray & finally Copper Spray. Those didn't work either.
Spent half the Summer picking off the slowly progressing upward yellow and dying leaves until there was nothing left but bare stems & blooms. They still managed to produce a lot of blooms, but I've just about had it with trying to grow Zinnias in this cool wet, warm, hot, then scorching humid climate.
I would love to find an effective anti-fungal/fungicide for my precious Zinnias that start out healthy and beautiful, and then inevitably become infested with powdery mildew as they slowly start dying mid-summer.
Aside from the same fungal diseases that plague my Zinnias every year, I really enjoyed growing these and plan to give it another try next year.
Also grew the Red "Andes Jewels" Cultivar. Those also started out beautiful and then suddenly succumbed to powdery mildew and died even faster than the yellow ones.
