It is perfect in pots and containers for an edgy textured look and also wonderful for creating color and texture contrast in garden beds, where its thin leaves will sway gently in the breeze. This easy to grow plant thrives in Hilton Head (zone 8), is heat, drought and deer resistant, and extremely low maintenance. I have a love/hate relationship with grasses. I love their texture and the airiness they bring to a flower bed. I hate that most die back in the winter or look brown and unsightly. I hate that they need to be cut back (hedge trimmed) in the Spring. Others run or reseed prolifically and end up all over the garden where I do not want them. Lomandra PB has none of these shortcomings. It looks like a grass but isn't. Unlike most grasses, Lomandra is EVERGREEN, therefore there is no need to cut it back after the winter. It stays where you put it. Happy in either full sun or partial shade. Drought tolerant. Deer leave it alone. Real easy care. Older plants can get big and shaggy looking. Just dig it up, saw it in 2 and replant. It is indestructible. Lovely plant!
