"One of the unique plants - at least once - is a highly localized race of Morrison's jewelflower, this being the Dorr Place jewelflower, Streptanthus morrisonii subsp. hirtiflorus, growing near its assumed type locality. This plant is about 18" tall and growing out of a serpentine rock face. The spiral display of flowers is typical of Morrison's jewelflower, though oddly not mentioned in the literature. This subspecies is - IMHO- now unfortunately lumped into the variable species, but taxonomy is always in flux and I expect someday it will rise again as a distinct subset."
