I support these stems with a hoop support, as they will flop over - the hoop allows them to arch naturally above the foliage. The flowers are lovely soft purple 'squirrel tails' and keep coming for much of the summer. This is a very robust plant but does not seed around or run. I have moved it several times, and divided it, and all were successful. One is in morning sun, others get sun all day. They do equally well, as long as there is sufficient moisture. This plant is a show-stopper and well worth growing if you have room and a wet location.
