This Nepeta grows on Mnt. Hermon, where it is nowhere near abundant. It is, however, surprisingly easy to grow from seed at sea level. It blooms reliably in Spring, and, being self-compatible, it also yields the largest Nepeta achenes I'm aware of.
The last time I had it, it did not survive the Summer, and if it dies on me again this year, I'll simply keep growing it from seed as an annual.
The attractive leaves have a bronze underside, and in characteristic Lamiaceae fashion, they also have an essential oil, which smells positively foul!
