"This string of fruits is from the critically endangered Barringtonia...Read More reticulata, a native shrub which can be found in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia. It is a small tree which can grow up to 30 metres tall, with drooping or straggling branches. Bark is roughly cracked and grey. The bark is used as a fish poison by the locals. Flowers are pinkish-red, with protruding stamens and bloom year-round. The fruits are greenish-red, turning to mang colour as they ripen."
