Prasophyllum olidum - Pungent Leek Orchid (it really does have a strong fragrance) has only been recorded at one site in northern Tasmania and to visit and photograph the first flower was a rare privilege. Malcolm and I acknowledge the opportunity provided to us.
I have been informed that there will not be any public viewing of this species at the RTBG, at this time, as there is only one plant, but as they increase the collection they will aim to have them on show in the future.
Interested enthusiasts seeking further information about this orchid should visit the site highlighted below.
