It definitely needs more water than glauca, so maybe it will be less likely to spread.
The leaves are a bit sticky like so many tobaccos. They tend to collect dirt and debris.
The plant is hostile to plants underneath it, so it is not good in a mixed planting, but does make an impressive feature standing alone.
Hummingbirds do visit it, and it does flower all year 'round in the mild SF Bay climate.
Usually grown from cuttings, but also seems to produce viable seed without cross-pollenation.
Hardiness is not known to me.
