More commonly known as Viburnum obovatum. A species of evergreen shrub native to the Deep South and the most common wild viburnum species in North and Central Florida.
Spring flowers attract pollinators. Fall fruit matures to black and is eaten by many birds. Tolerates drought but also tolerates flooding and is native to forests that are frequently inundated with water. Prefers acidic soil but known to be adaptable.
'Christmas Snow' is a more compact selection than the wild-type and has been selected for its more floriferous habit.
