This older and much loved flower with a beautiful perfume is seen in early Spring planted in borders or clumps in older New Zealand garde...Read Morens. Apparently they appeared by chance in a Mrs Burton's private garden in Nelson, New Zealand in the 1930's. The flowers are usually sterile, so propagation is by by bulb division.
