I wasn't sure this bean would produce in our climate, since it take so long to mature, but it laug...Read Morehs at frost! I began picking beans in October (we expect first frost around mid-September) & it took a hard freeze to stop its abundance.
It grew to the top of our 8' stock-panel arch & kept going, piling up on top (making it hard/impossible to pick the beans up there!). This year I'll give it a straight fence so it can go sideways instead of up!
When I've tried to grow pole beans before, I got lots of flowers, but very few beans (massive blossom drop). This bean is the exception. I got lots of flowers & lots of beans! I was amazed by the gallons of beans I got from two arches (great space-saver), as was a fellow gardener. I gave her one seedling (I ignorantly planted my seeds too close together & needed to thin them) & she's told me several times how impressed she was by how much it produced.
