However, another account claims this is false and says Gete-okosomin has been grown for thousands of years by the Miami (and it was never extinct). However, there was another squash found in a cave in Kentucky—they grew seeds believed to be thousands of years old (but they weren't as impressed by the size or flavor); hopefully they exist, still.
The fruits of Gete-okosomin are long (shaped like Candy Roaster) and orange and somewhat striped, and are said to have smooth flesh. The squash is said to have large leaves and flowers.
