Unlike the typically self-fertile highbush blueberries, two rabbiteye varieties are required for cross-pollination. This excellent late season variety has large, dark blue berries that have a gritty texture, crops in July and August, and is one of their many varieties that suit the climate in the heart of the Waikato, NZ where 'Monavale Berries' have established a lovely rural cafe in the midst of their 40 hectare orchard, a few minutes out of Cambridge. Well worth while a visit.
