i germinated them from seed , they are not hard to germinate it just takes a while - first ones should appear after 3 weeks and most should germinate after 6 weeks. never let the seeds or seed tray dry out and if you can provide some direct sunlight in winter or early spring it really helps germination.

they grow moderate to fast and have beautifull mottled , veined l,velvet / hairy leaves that have rough edges that are pointed either inwards or outwards giving the appearance of a globe - hence the name grobbebol or roughglobe. the stems are somwhat sharp like lemongrass and may cause injury but the foliage is wonderfully soft and look great in partial sunlight.

i didn't expect it to have so much ornamental value the leaf edges give almost a gleaming look in full sun and really lighten up a border or forest garden on a cloudy day.

one of the best characteristics is the aromatic foliage. ITS REALLY AROMATIC , it almost smells like a mens perfume , its like a cross between orange, cloves , lavender but really sweet scent. if you like aromatic plants you should get one.

this cultivar contains WAY MORE alkaloids than the original species, i tried to make a tea out of it but the taste was like a combination of absint or artemisia abrotanum with cloves and hops and somewhat like nutmeg. to be honest i have eaten the most foul ferments and the worst tasting plants in the world but this one makes artemisia species taste like a joke. i finished my glass but i wouldn't repeat it again it creates some weird bitter tasting film around your tongue which is hard to wash away.

regarding effects i really did feel calmer it really works , i imagine that making a extract and smoke it could work really well.

this plant does really well in full sun , partial sun and light shade. this cultivar is very drought tolerant and extremely cold hardy, it can grow in poor soils.
