They can use a little support as the flower heads are large. They bloom on new wood, so the branches are supple. They are still fairly low (about 50cm). They started to bloom in the beginning of august and will continue thru November. The buds are like peonies - fascinating to watch unfolding and the flowers are large and loose, going from white to pink to greenish. A real joy in the fall shade. They are informal and fit perfectly into the woodsy garden with ferns and other shade plants. A real find! I am in zone 8a.
