I had a hard time growing “regular” verbena bonariensis from seed 3 years in a row, so I bought a “regular” verb...Read Moreena at a garden center and I bought this one as well, thinking it was just an immature verbena that would grow taller. But it stayed a nice, compact size. I was afraid maybe, since it’s a hybridized verbena bonariensis, that it might not attract pollinators, as sometimes happens with hybrids. Not to worry - the pollinators loved it.
It didn’t return for me the following year. Unfortunately, the “regular” verbena returned like crazy all over my garden beds. So bizarre - I had no luck growing it under grow lights in a warm house, but it grew back like wildfire from sowing itself. So I’ve been moving big, tall, spreading verbena to the back of the garden and I went out and bought me a new Meteor Shower this year. Next year I’m going to use Meteor Shower in planters because they really are a lovely, well behaved pollinator plant.
