The potted plant came in that winter, but mostly overwinters outside with no protection. Both grow in strong shade, and a year- old plant in a wall-hung pot grows in complete shade. The in-ground plant gets once-a-month water in summer and none in winter. S. ballyi has typical Sansevieria blooms, with lacy spikes of whitish tubular flowers. It spreads relatively slowly, by stolons with new plants on the ends.
