A dark evergreen background helps highlight the flower display in the landscape.

The sweet fragrance of the flowers is strong enough to carry on the air.

In other respects, this cultivar is much like the species. Excellent gold fall foliage color. Beautiful zig-zag branching architecture develops naturally if not destroyed by pruning.

Flowering is best in full sun. Needs moist well-drained acid soil. Intolerant of dry soil/drought.

Discovered by the breeder Richard Jaynes of Broken Arrow Nursery, Hamden, CT. This originated as a rootstock whose graft failed.
