It is a Fringed Tulip, a form which is now separately classified from the Parrot Tulips as the edges have a clear crystalline fringe as opposed to more deeply cut feathered effect of Parrot Tulips. The Fringed Tulips are predominantly lacking the green markings on the outer petals which is quite common in Parrot Tulips. It will grow to 50cm and will flower in April to May.
Received the prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) from the Royal Horticultural Society in 2015.
