This Iris is thought to be one of the Only Iris besides 'Golden Symp...Read Morehony 1943' that was Created by Mrs. Francis Horton and her husband Norman Horton, of Elkhart, Indiana; that is still thought to be in existence. I previously only knew of hybridizer : Elbridge Greig Lapham, as the only Elkhart, Indiana hybridizer, which i was overjoyed to learn about as my father was born in and grew up in Elkhart, and i never knew irises were created and grown there, but then also recently read an article by Keith Keppel about the Lovely pink Hager Iris 'Vanity' and it discussed their was an MDB Iris Vanity in 1945 which was yellow, created by Mrs. Francis Horton of Elkhart, IN , which predates Hager's TB Vanity by 30 years and still may be in existence, so there were two important Elkhart Iris Hybridizers :-). ALL of the Lapham and Horton Irises Created in Elkhart, Indiana, are now in Plantfiles! ALL with Correct Dates of Introduction and Correct Bloomtimes!
