Very vigorous, very disease resistant. Well branched, with flexible stems. Thornless, or nearly so.
This will bloom at the expense of vegetative growth when small if allowed. Flower buds should be systematically removed when plant is small to encourage vegetative growth.
Flowers do not freely drop old petals, but they can be removed by a strong blast of water from a hose.
This is an open-pollinated seedling of 'Renae'. It was bred and is generally grown on the west coast, but I've heard solid reports of success in Wisconsin and Chicago. It is much hardier than it's generally reputed to be.
Available only from a few boutique mail order nurseries. This cultivar is much in demand by knowledgeable rosarians, and is usually wait-listed.
