I am currently growing "First Scent Memories" in my pink, red, and white garden. I was not really sure what to expect from Dianthus as I have never grown one, but it was one of the first flowers in my new garden to bloom, and it was been profuse and repeat. The flowers last for several days and then fade and brown. I have been deadheading to encourage more blossoms and have been very successful.
It's not a tall flower, so it's good for the front of the bed, but the flowers are delicate and pretty even in pure white. I have not stooped down to smell them, so I can't comment on the smell, but the foliage is tidy, and it clusters very nicely. The extra rain we've been inundated with has not seemed to faze the plant unlike some others in the bed that are currently water-stressed.
It's a very nice, sturdy flower, and I'm happy to have it.
