Also, I have found that this plant does not like dry sites like my red hot poker does. Appreciates average amount of watering, not a good soaking.
Update: Has been moved a couple of times since I bought it 2 years ago, and it has not complained. The first time it was moved was from a poor soil (nutrient level) and dry site to a more moist and rich location. it took a while for it to adapt but came out just fine and pretty quickly, I think. Considering it's health when it was moved. Then again last year. This year it was shaded and crowded by other plants this summer but despite that it stayed green and healthy and grew noticeably for the first time. But it didn't bloom until those plants were cut back for the autumn and it didn't waste any time producing flowers. It is still flowering - in November. Granted, there is no snow yet.
