I didn't know where to put it when I bought it so I stuck it in the an out-of-th-way part of our large lawn and largely ignored it for the past 2 years. Rarely did it get watered even that first year and even less last summer. In a 2-month heat wave of 96 - 102 weather I finally remembered the tree and squirted some water on it. Then in a record-breaking cold spell this winter of 0* I was sure, with all the neglect, it wouldn't have the root system to survive. I was pleasantly surprised to see an abundant growth of leaves this spring-----though no height gain. Out of compassion I've finally transplanted it to a newly tilled area where it will receive water and nutritious mulch along with the other plants. I don't baby my plants. They all get the same water and fertilizing and if it's too much or too little of either......oh well. I rarely loose a plant, shrub or tree, so we'll see. Hoping to see some growth with this new spot. I love this tree for the original reasons of buying it, but even more so for it endurance!!
