Can use for dried beans too. Only thing is the name, which is very misleading. The only purple in the bean are the seeds (beans) when immature are sort of purple. The pods are green, and the dried beans are tan, light brown, with some reddish brown (which could be interpreted as purple?) splashed on and mixed in (at least to my eyes!).
