I baked the squash in chunks. I must say it is excellent. Of all the squashes I've tasted, this is my favorite for plain eating (baked). Here are the squashes I've tasted, for the record: zucchini, acorn, butternut, pumpkin, spaghetti, Amish Pie, and probably others. A very nice thing about this squash when baked is you can eat the skin! It's not tough or bitter at all! It tastes great. Don't put garlic on it (it tastes better plain). I imagine a pie made from this would taste awesome.
The fruit was quite heavy, maybe 20-30lbs. It looked like a rumply, blue-green pumpkin. It was quite different.

Unfortunately, the plant delivered mostly all male flowers. No development of fruit at present in September, as I have been checking for female flowers in the morning to hand pollinate. Overall, the plant was hardy, but non-productive for me. However, I am a novice at pumpkins. As tempting as the unique color may be, it would not be wise use of space for me to plant next year. I will look for a heavy bearing heirloom variety instead.
