It is a dainty pink color and it seems to be in a class with KELWAY'S QUEEN and LA FEE, two of the scarcest, best selling Peonies in the world. It does not bloom as early as JUDGE BERRY and LUETTA PFEIFFER and it does not have first-class landscape value, but as a cut flower it ranks with the best in the world. $7.50
Per the APS website:
MABEL L. FRANKLIN (Franklin, 1920) - Double- Pink - Midseason. Average height. Strong lemon fragrance. Very large. Guards and center brilliant rose-pink; collar flesh-pink or pale salmon; flowers regularly built but loose and graceful. Strong grower; floriferous; stems bend. Foliage, light green. A very handsome bloom which is sometimes weak in the collar, but the color is very clear and shows up well, especially in half shade. Petals are generally lighter at the edges, giving a brilliant, silvered appearance to the bloom.
