LAMARTINE (Lemoine, 1908) - Double - Pink - Late. Medium height. Fragrant. Large, ball-like blooms, with recurved, over-lapping petals of dark old-rose-pink of distinctly violet shade, each petal bordered with slaty lavender or pale grayish foliage. A dark, rather opaque'-pink variety of distinctly bold form and habit. Must not be confused with Lamartine (Calot, 1860) which is now generally called GIGANTEA .
