GALATHEE (Lemoine). Probably the very latest, very tall, light p...Read Moreink, full double Peony to bloom in this latitude. The bloom is of most excellent quality, and some seasons the stems have been strong enough to hold the blooms perfectly, but it is probable that it would be wise to have supports ready for the stems, because the blooms grow to immense size and a strong wind would probably damage them. As this variety blooms at the extreme end of the season, flowers intended for use indoors should be gathered very early in the morning, before the hot summer sun can draw the quality from the petals, We have found that this Peony and its sister late blooming white variety, ENCHANTRESSE, will stand shade through at least part of the day. Valuable because it furnishes first-class blooms after THERESE, LADY ALEXANDRA DUFF, FRANCES WILLARD, GLORIOUS, and LE CYGNE have disappeared entirely. We recommend it unhesitatingly. $4.00
