IT can can be recognized by its nearly smooth leaves that have small teeth along the edges and sometimes a few spots or a hint of them. Aloes superficially look like Aloe striatas but with small marginal teeth. Flowers looks more like maculata flowers but orange flowers are not uncommon. Leaves typically turn a deep purple color in winters and other times of extreme stress, and this color change may be on the reason these aloes are so popular. Generally they are slow to sucker (like Aloe striatas) but many do eventually.
