This variety is apparently a chinense-annuum cross with purple pods. In Brazil it is called Neyde (after the women who discovered it). Even though the fruits don't resemble Chinense very much, the taste is said to be very chinense-like and the pods are supposed to be very hot. Flowers are white with purple stains and the pods remain purple even at maturity. The variety is definitely one for the avid pepper collector.
