I makes a good much used bright clean and tidy ground cover plant in ornamental landscapes. I have observed it growing far inland on hard clay soils in areas that recieve moderate frosts at night in the winter months. I have grown countless tens of thousands of these plants over the years on dune rehabilitation projects on the coastline both north central and south of Durban, South Africa from large (two foot) cuttings planted directly in situ. Plants establish well from these large cuttings throughout the year but the best results have always been obtained during the cooler winter months during which we experience less onshore wind and where the cuttings were able to be watered until establishment.
