LE JOUR (Shaylor, 1915) - Single - White - Early Midseason. Tall. Fragrance not notable. Very large. White, with two rows of long, wide, overlapping petals; center, a broad ring of golden yellow stamens about a group of reddish carpels tipped darker and having a pink line at the base. Very floriferous; strong, erect stems. Good foliage.
This Shaylor peony is grown at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor at the Nichols Arboretum.
