They like acidic soil to start so use peat moss to start. The more sun they get the more pink & colorful. I planted on west & south facing side of house. You can trim/cut to shape bush, hedge to keep uniform, or let it grow to over 6'.
I like it as a hedge border under windows. Trimming & hedging will keep bush compact. If left to grow tall it gets leggy. You can NOT use cuttings for anything, they wilt within 30 minutes. After it is established (a year or 2) you will begin to see sucker plant coming up. You can dig up suckers and re-plant where ever you want more. Plant right away after digging up or they will go into shock, very tempermental. If they do go into shock just wait a month or so & they will come back. Regular water.
Can be grown in big pots but do much better in the ground.
These are very pretty, lots of color, bushes. Love them!
Zone 9 Have to cover during freeze.Potted works fine (move indoors)
