Amaranthus, Chinese Spinach, Fountain Plant, Joseph's Coat, Summer Poinsettia 'Joseph's Coat'

The seeds are not available in Stockholm, Sweden so what with the postage they...Read More are expensive (£4 for a very small packet but many seeds because they are minute). When they germinate they are extremely spindly and weak. It takes ages before they become large enough to transplant. Watering is difficult. Too much or too little and they die. The small plants need warmth and light but shrivel and die in sunshine. I have 2 surviving plants outside, none inside, of 10 original germinated seeds. Now the 2 plants are a bit sturdier and about 5 inches high. I sowed them in a heated propagator inside in May. The leaves are truly splendid but not very strong. I very much want to have this plant and had hoped to have a row in my allotment and a few outside my flat and to be able to collect seeds from them in the autumn. High hopes. Next year perhaps will be better.
