I had to move it in September, despite which the clump survived the winter (only slightly milder than average) and is now waking up.
The leaves are narrower and more grass-like than with many Kniphofias, which tend to be coarse-textured, and though it still looks like it's having a bad hair day, it looks better groomed than most red hot pokers.
I'm very pleased and looking forward to a full season of flowering.
The breeder recommends soil pH 6.0-6.8 as optimal for container culture, but as always in the garden this plant is adaptable over a wider pH range.
