I had acquire...Read Mored this species as Stenomesson variegatum from Telos Rare Bulbs (their plant # 9291) in 2009 and always wondered why it was so different in size as compared to the orange/red "form" of C. variegatus. Skip forward, the strap-leaved Stenomesson species were transferred to the resurrected genus, Clinanthus, by Meerow (I believe in 2002) and what has been sold as the yellow flowered Stenomesson/Clinanthius variegatus is actually the yellow-flowered "form" of Clinanthus incarnatus. It is more spectacular in flower than C. variegatus. It is as simple as that!
