Apparently the story is cheiro means 'scented' and this is an extremely aromatic pepper, a bit on the mild side. Small, 3-cm peppers ripening through different colors and with a sweet, highly aromatic flavor. Not much heat (you can bite it without fear!). Same fruity, candy-like flavor as the Aji Dulce.
Ornamental value too. From the Recife area of Brazil.
