I did have to hide the ripening red peppers (with nylons or white mesh) from the mockingbirds. It's a delicious pepper, but it quit producing when our hot Florida summer started. The peppers were susceptible to sun scald as well. I think this would be a stellar pepper up north. It has sweet, thick flesh that I prefer to bells.
