Some plants in cultivation (at this time 2011) looks VERY different and are probably incorrectly identified plants (eg. the nice clumps of deep green, laterlly spreading, flattened aloe labelled as this at the Los Angeles arboretum). And there is controversy as to what the 'real thing' looks like still. Many photos of this in habitat available, but none of reliable photos in cultivation. Many plants look far different in cultivation than they do in the harsh wild, so only time will tell as to what this plant really looks like in our gardens.
