Takes a while to yield, but when it does it bushes out well and is a solid producer. Only negative is it doesn't snap off the plant as cleanly or easily as other okras, so you can end up with a bit too much stem. Flavor is outstanding.
Plants are also nearly spineless and it's the first variety out of about 6 okras I've grown that has come close to the spineless claim. The Burmese okra I planted along with the bowling red is about ten times worse in the itch department.
Spaced my transplants at a foot and a quarter apart, gave the plants just barely enough room to bush out like they wanted to. Huge, beautiful plants.

Pretty red pods. Quick to over-ripen (more so than the common variety). Also, not quite as productive.
