It is a shrubby tree endemic to Taiwan. Leaves are smaller, thicker, rounder and glossier . This known to be very popular bonsai material in japan, where its known as miyasama maple. Miyasama will turn orange scarlet autumn color in colder climates and in warmer regions the autumn color is orange- creamy yellow, Great cold/heat tolerant.
