Purchased three small Majestic Beauty olives trees only two feet in height in the summer of 2007. I potted them in ever increasing size ...Read Morepots. They have done well and have never been taken inside. One is a focal specimen plant in one of our eleven pocket gardens, the other two grace our patio. Our location is a northern suburb of Dallas.
In two of those six years, the one most exposed has gotten brown tips on the leaves at 23-26 degrees F. It shakes those off as spring moves into summer. Once it was blown over and froze tight to the ground, and came out just fine. I have photos of that incident and others,as well.
Now, I want to buy three more for pots in my son's back yard and cannot find them in reasonable size or distance. In mt 70's, I would like the trees to attain 6 feet before my journey is complete. Any ideas? The astonishing thing was I got these at a local Home Depot, who had seven in stock from an east Texas nursery. I lost the source and the nursery manager at HD has turned over many times. Three of the remaining four went to friends who tried to plant them in the ground. Failure.
