I thought it was too little water at first as we had a severe drought recently, but even with the current steady rain this spring is just hasn't greened up much. I'm pretty sure our soil is just too alkaline for it. It was a beautiful Christmas tree, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have acidic soil. If you are looking for a large evergreen, though, for alkaline soils, our deodar cedar appears to be thriving...it has been in the ground for 4 months now and looks very good.
