Its ...Read Moreslender stature and leaves don't take much room in the garden so when it's not flowering it's not wasting limited garden space plus it has an interesting, unique look. It emerged from hibernation around mid May, sooner than Mimosa trees, for instance. Bubba has flower buds on it June 2nd and paler flowered Chilopsis Conchas Dam Pink is forming buds now as well.

Lost it's leaves in the fall (naturally) and I left it sitting right where it was all winter. We had several mid-20's nights this year. Bubba is fine !! New leaves are coming out all over. I'd have to call it foolproof (if this fool can grow it) and if you get one you'll love it too. One look at the flowers and you know why they call it the "Orchid of the desert".
