The first time I saw a Snapdragon was as a young child yet I never planted my own until this past Sprng (a lot of years later) after I sp...Read Moreotted a 6-pack of 'Rocket Red' at a nursery and thought the color would be a great addition for the Hummingbirds.

Most of my yard is shady and I didn't have any room in my small full sun flower bed so I planted them in part sun not expecting much.

Well, right now (mid-August) they're covered with tons of buds and some have already opened to a rich velvety deep Red making me think, "why did I wait so long?". They're so beautiful that I'm going to try to take cuttings to grow for next year. I love the plant, the color and the velvet texture of the blooms. Plus, they don't seem to mind at all being in only part sun.
