It is well shaped (oval lollipop) at about 15 feet requiring minimal pruning, and has had no disease or pest problems to date. It is very fruitful, and the best tasting sour cherry I've ever had. We make 3 quarts of preserves from it every year, and leave another quart's worth on the tree for birds. Probably our most beloved and succesful garden inhabitant.

The fruit on the crimson passion being slightly larger .We pit and freeze the cherries for desserts throughout the year . Pie , topping for vanilla ice cream and panna cotta .Let me repeat PIE TO DIE FOR . It is necessary to remove all the fruit from the trees and ground otherwise these teeny tiny flies develop which in following years leave ugly little black spots on the fruit .
