Per hybridizer Tom Perry (ebay seedman01) " C. x ‘Sunbonnet’ is a back cross of C. bulbispermum rosea (pollen) to C. ‘Ellen Bosanquet’ (seed). The 'Sunbonnet consistently produces beautiful pink flowers that are tightly grouped and large, up to 6 inches across. Foliage is more upright (3 ft.) than the ‘Ellen Bosanquet’ seed parent. I believe this bulb has inherited C. Bulbispermum’s winter hardiness as the bulb has gone through several freezing nights with minimal affect on the foliage. Mature bulb produces multiple scapes in late Spring. The upright, rose-red flower scapes are very heavy, thick and sturdy, and grow 4 feet tall. "
Sunbonnet is a sister seedling to crinum SuperEllen.
